Knight-A

Company Description

NaViCare is seeking 200,000 to develop the next version of Night Adaptometer (Knight-A), a portable and affordable screening device for early detection and monitoring of visual diseases. Compared to its nearest competitor, this device increases the testing range 100-fold, and yet retails at around half the price. If adopted by the NHS it could save the U.K. Government millions of pounds in post-accident payout. We estimate initial annual turnover at 80,000, rising to 150,000. Investors should regain their investment in three years. Twenty percent of the profit will be re-invested in human vision research.

Metal-Enriched Yeast

Company Description

Vitamin and mineral supplements are in a competitive market where sales are dependent on reformulation of existing products and media reports of clinical studies. Inorganic salts as carriers of minerals have received considerable criticism and negative publicity because clinical studies have proved that absorption of inorganic compounds is highly inefficient. Moreover, current manufacturing processes incorporate impurities that impair quality of the product and risk the consumer's health. The use of metal-enriched yeast as next-generation supplements will provide a biological, organic-bound mineral supply that is low-cost, free of impurities and that exhibits optimised absorption characteristics due to its biological nature.
