This shift will be due to a groundbreaking surgical procedure, known as NOTES, which enables surgeons to perform 'scarless' operations. Our primary IP will break down the largest barrier to the widespread acceptance of NOTES. RemRom seeks funding to launch our flagship product and expand our product portfolio.

The main purpose of SkyHigh is to provide African and Caribbean students and job seekers studying anywhere in the world with a much needed comprehensive guide of national and international companies, employment opportunities and further education institutions (kind of like the Vault guides for Asia, Europe and America). SkyHigh will also assist them with CV and interview techniques and advising on issues such as student and work visas. The project will rely heavily on its website but will also involve circulating some publishing and organizing career events within selected universities in Africa, the Caribbean and worldwide.

The deployable wheelchair ramp provides disabled access in accordance with the Disabilities Discrimination Act, while preserving the architectural sense of listed buildings protected by English Heritage. The ramp is built into the ground and steps so that it is almost unnoticeable and does not obstruct pedestrians in its initial configuration. It deploys via remote control and provides a parapet and an audible warning such that it complies with British Standards. The ramp initially has a niche market in Cambridge colleges, but future generations will extend the market to all historic buildings which require disabled access.

Sleep disorder is a major health problem worldwide. SleepCap offers an obvious solution. Sleep ensues when there is a change in brain waves from the waking state. A cap worn over the head, it comprises electrodes in contact with the scalp, which produce gentle oscillations of electrical potential, inducing sleep innocuously. Once commercialised, everyone will be able to enjoy a good night's sleep, and will subsequently be able to perform better during the day. SleepCap will also be able to enhance memory consolidation by boosting slow oscillations during sleep.

Sphera will develop information compression technology for data defined on the surface of a sphere (i.e. data spheres). In current applications data spheres are stored naively with limited compression. Preliminary tests indicate that our new compression schemes can reduce data spheres to 5% of their uncompressed size. Data spheres play a key role in emerging live computer graphics applications and our compression technology will provide substantial commercial benefits in this industry. We are seeking start up funds to form a limited company, investigate the patentability of our compression algorithms and to develop an initial release of our software products.
