CU Entrepreneurs has 20 cash prizes of £100 to give away, each for a summary of a business idea of not more than 100 words. The challenge is to condense what you want to say and get all the major points across in a single paragraph. Remember to make your idea 'POP'

We would like to remind you to submit your £1k Challenge entries before lunch time 1pm on Monday 7 December for the chance to win prizes of £1000.

We ask you to submit executive summaries of 1,500 Words. Any content beyond this will be discarded. You will also need to write a public summary of no more than 100 words. Make sure than no confidential information is disclosed in this public summary.

£5k Challenge

Deadline: Monday 23 February, 13:00. To submit your entry, please follow the checklist. You will need to email your extended summary to once you have registered your entry via the checklist.

This is it. CU Entrepreneurs is now in the final phase of its competition.  We will be awarding prizes of £5000 to businesses in the categories Technology & CleanTech, Social & Environmental, and Software & Web. This is the opportunity in Cambridge to gain recognition and establish your venture as the one to watch!

As with the £1k challenge, prior entry is not required, although each team must have at least one member of the University. Read the Competitions Handbook for more information. By Phase 2, you will have built a team and be ready to make your idea happen. In this phase you will benefit from a professional mentor, write a business plan and pitch for investment. The £5k Challenge rewards propositions that show practicality, financial viability and strong teams.


£1k Challenge deadline

Phase 1 is about spotting the business opportunity and writing a 1500-word executive summary. The £1k Challenge rewards well-presented propositions that show clear market potential and competitive positions. You will need to clearly identify and quantify your market niche.

There are 10 cash prizes of £1k each. Winners and runners-up get free entry to Phase 2.

There is no need to give away any private information – a public summary is enough to win the competition. Then, submit your summary online at www.cue.org.uk
