SmartElec

'SmartElec' is a plug adapter containing a chip which processes information about the electricity price sent over the power lines by electricity suppliers. It will be sold to electricity suppliers, who will distribute the plug adapters to their customers with Real Time Pricing contracts. The SmartElec plug adapters allow consumers to shift load from expensive to less expensive time periods by switching 'on' or 'off' some electrical goods (e.g. heaters, water tanks etc), and therefore reduce their electricity bills.
