Jack Lang, serial entrepreneur and business angel, is a co-founder of Artimi Ltd, which is making the next generation of ultra wide band wireless chips. Jack previously worked on the BBC Microcomputer, founded Netchannel Ltd, which was acquired in 1998 by ntl, founded Electronic Share Information, which was acquired in 1995 by E*Trade Inc and co-founded Midsummer House Restaurant.

£1k Boot Camp Poster

CUE will be holding the £1k Boot Camp on Thursday 23rd November 2006. This event will be a great opportunity for those interested in the £1k Business Ideas Competition to learn how to write a winning executive summary and how to excel in this year's competition, as well as find potential ideas and team members in the networking session which follows. Everyone who is interested in entering, whether or not you have an idea, should attend! Please save the date for the £1k Boot Camp. Come and listen to James Hay, Co-founder of Splashpower and Walter Herriot, Director of St. John's Innovation Center. James Hay entered and won the CUE business creation competition in 2001. Splashpower were the first winner of the CUE competitions to attract venture capital. In January 2004, Splashpower announced the completion of their second VC funding round with Benchmark Capital investing $5.4 million.

To enter the £1k Business Ideas Competition, follow these online instructions.

On 23 November, CUE held the £1k Boot Camp to provide practical advice on writing winning summaries. Guest speakers included James Hay, co-founder of previous winner Splashpower, and Walter Herriot OBE, Managing Director of the St John's Innovation Centre. A video comprising highlights of the £1k Boot Camp is available. A short description of the structure and content of an executive summary is also available.
