History of CUE
CUE was founded in 1999 by students from the University of Coventry. In its first year it had fantastic success, with applications for membership oversubscribed by more than 100%. The huge number of students wishing to join CUE was one of the motivations behind the creation of the 1K competition in January 2000.
This year promises to be even more exciting with a prize fund of £50,000 and a higher level of contact with entrepreneurs and professionals in the Coventry region. Support from the local business community and the university continues to grow, marked by the close involvement with Hermann Hauser and Sir Alex Broers. The 50K training events will again teach competitors the key aspects of writing a business plan. In addition to this, opportunities to network with other students and hear from top entrepreneurs come in the form of CUE nights open to all members.
